Honoring the Legacy of Pearl Mae Petty

Pearl Mae Petty
September 15, 1937 - 2018

Pearl Mae Petty, born in the close-knit community of Shelby, North Carolina, was more than just the matriarch of her family; she was the heart and soul of her neighborhood. From the moment she entered this world on September 15, 1937, Pearl embodied the essence of compassion, dedication, and unwavering support for those around her.

Pearl’s home was a sanctuary of love and guidance. Known for her warm meals and even warmer heart, she raised not only her own family but also countless children from the neighborhood. Her door was always open, her table always set, and her advice always ready.

Pearl believed in nurturing every child with care, keeping them on the straight and narrow path to a brighter future. Her legacy of love and community care is the foundation upon which Pearl's Childcare Learning Center and Pearl's Too were built. When Pearl passed in 2018, we knew that the best way to honor her remarkable life was to continue her mission of caring for and guiding children. Our centers stand as a testament to her enduring spirit, offering a safe, nurturing environment for every child, just as Pearl did.
